If booking with expedia then give the shared transfers a miss if landing late and just get a cab at 39 euro.Didn't do many activities apart from walking down into Hersonissos,just 20 minutes down the hill and 7 euro back in a cab,will definitely return to pilots,Yamas Georgios.

  We’ve just returned from our third visit to Pilot’s and somehow it keeps getting better each time! We were slightly nervous about travelling due to the pandemic but need not... read more have worried as Yiorgos and Family have put in place various precautions to protect both themselves and guests. The cleanliness was second to none and we felt very safe throughout our stay. Examples of precautions include: masks, spacing between sunbeds (individual sunbed for each guest for length of their stay), hand sanitiser etc.

Highlights of our stay were Katerina’s amazing breakfasts and ice cream iced coffees! ️ A must try!

You will never go anywhere which welcomes you more than at Pilot’s. The family are lovely and go out of their way to make sure every guest has a uniquely special experience to remember. This is why their guests return time after time.

Katrina is so helpful and like George will really go the extra mile for you! The rooms are to a very High standard, the beds are so comfy and the shower was spacious! The pool is one of if not the cleanest I’ve ever been in and the pool area is spacious and not cluttered. Clean and tidy Gardens surround the Villas and they are well maintained and add nice colours to the surroundings. There is not one negative thing I can say about Pilots.

The villa was beautiful and very comfortable, with a great view. The pool was the clearest I’ve ever been in, and there are lovely outside sofas to sit on and admire the view to the sea.

It’s 20 mins walk to a small busy beach and the main town but we much preferred Koutouloufari which was so pretty and had loads of great tavernas. We hired a car for 4 days (lots of cheap car hire places in the village) and went to Spinalonga, Agios Nikolaos, and Potamos beach (25 mins drive) and it was really good to see a bit more of beautiful Crete. More

It is very very safe, you get your own sun lounger and there is have sanitizer available. If you are doubtful about coming, please don’t be.

It is run by a family who have made me feel welcome every time I come. The rooms are fantastic and are cleaned daily. The breakfast is amazing, make sure you try it.

The number of people returning year after year speaks volumes.

The resort itself was quieter than normal, but hopefully next year will be back to normal.

From the moment you arrive you are greeted by the family ( it’s owned and ran by a lovely husband and wife and their son.
As for the rooms/suites they are beautiful- the most comfy large bed we have ever slept in. The sheets towels toiletries are way over five star and the love that went into each suite is apparent to see .
They are all sound proofed and have a lovely balcony to sit and look ahead at the sea.
The pool area was never busy and the owner brings up each day the amount of beds to how many people are staying there.
We did bed and breakfast and couldn’t eat another thing all day
Breads, Jams, eggs however you fancy them ( from their own organic eggs ) the nicest boiled egg I have ever eaten.
After all that a plate of fresh fruit yoghurts and cakes!
The swimming pool was the nicest one we’ve ever seen.
I was taken poorly and they look after you like your own family.
Even the maids did the most wonderful job everyday .
As you leave the entrance and turn right there are about 40 tavernas ( even though it’s a beautiful quiet road)
As you sir around the pool and chat most of the guests have been going year after year as you can’t go wrong .
We had to leave a few days early and our last day as I was ill all I wanted was bananas - they ran out so just went to the shop and bought me lots!
When we left they all say goodbye and you feel like your leaving your family!
Would we go again - oh my god yes in a heartbeat......
Whilst there it was someone’s ( a guest) the next thing they call everyone out of the pool to sing and then served us all for free amazing ice cream cakes!
They do lunch as well - all home grown produce where they can and that too was lovely .
We’ve come back and can’t stop thinking of the amazing pilot villas.

To those that are covid conscious the cleanliness is of an excellent standard and social distancing measures are in place with your own designated sun lounger for your stay. The restaurants near by provide some of the best food I’ve ever tasted. I experience total relaxation once a year and this is where I find it, in excellent company. Excellent services, very kind and helpful owners who exceed the tradition of Greek hospitality!! Very spacious, super clean and with all necessary amenities apartment. Extremely fast WiFi connection even inside the room!! A quiet and peaceful environment, with an astonishing garden surrounding the facilities. Not to mention the crystal clear swimming pool. Excellent breakfast with biological Cretan products, freshly made by sweet Mrs. Katerina. Giorgos, thank you and your family for a memorable staying and for making us feel like home!!
